We’re so sorry that the site hasn’t been updated in a while – we’re still here, still working. Promise.

Lots of things are going on behind the curtain as usual, but we didn’t mean to be away for so long! We hope you can forgive us – how about some new artwork in the run-up to Magic of Myths: season two to help shake off the cobwebs?

More to come…

One of the hardest working artists in the comic book industry*, Sergio has already jumped from initial pencil designs to a full-blown colour pin-up of Eve from Magic of Myths: season two.  Take a look:

Eve V.2 - from pencils...

...to inks and colours.

More to come!

*During 2011 Sergio somehow managed to turn out the equivalent of 24 pages a month of pencilled, inked, (and often coloured and lettered) comics for a whole year, while still holding an unrelated full-time job. In the Marvel universe, Sergio would clearly be a member of the X-Men.

Happy New Year!

We hope 2012 is treating you well so far. As the first entry of the year, we thought it would be nice to kick things off with a bang, so we’re starting to trickle out some behind the scenes work on our second graphic novel, Magic of Myths: season two, which is currently being written and designed.

Sergio has already begun on the character work for the book, and as you’ll see Eve’s armour has gone through a little evolution… for reasons you’ll discover in season two, this summer.

We’ve been fortunate enough to have a couple reviews written about Magic of Myths: season one, both positive.

The first is over at Chud.com, where the book gained 3 and a half stars out of 5. You can read the review here: http://www.chud.com/54533/thors-comic-column-527/. Reviewer Jeb Delia said:

“For every clichéd post-Tolkien character or trope that we meet, Brotherson finds a way to skewer our expectations, or place a different twist on the expected… [and] Sergio Calvert’s cartoony work is a complete delight.”

The second review is at GeekPlanet Online, where editor and reviewer Dave Probert called Magic of Myths: season one:

“A fun, enjoyable book that will leave you wanting more.”

You can read the whole thing here: http://www.geekplanetonline.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=2076:magic-of-myths&Itemid=106

Thanks to both Jeb and Dave for their time and kind words. And if you want to review Magic of Myths: season one or have read it and want to tell us what you think, feel free to get in touch.

Thought Bubble came… and went. And it was fantastic.

Magic of Myths at Thought Bubble

Magic of Myths writer Corey Brotherson was there, sharing a table with the very talented Skal creator Jennie Gyllblad (who is also the artist/co-creator of several projects Corey is working on, including Clockwork Watch, Bayou Arcana: Irons in the Fire and Butterflies and Moths) and Magic of Myths: season one  sold well, and there was lots of positive feedback.

We can only say a massive thank you to everyone who passed by the table, had a chat, picked up a bookmark or purchased a copy of the book. Without your support we’d never got this far, so thank you so much.

We’ll hope to keep going as we enter 2012, with Magic of Myths: season two in the works. Let’s see where it takes us… and Eve…

We’re delighted to announce that Magic of Myths: season two is in the works, for a release during summer 2012.

The response to Magic of Myths: season one has positively surprised us and we’ll be continuing Eve’s story in the second season which pushes things in an unexpected direction. Needless to say, things don’t look good for our wannabe heroine…

There will be plenty more details of Magic of Myths: season two to come in 2012, including artwork, previews and how to pre-order it, so make sure you subscribe to this blog using the link on the right hand side to stay up to date.

In the meantime here’s a sneaky bit of information on what Magic of Myths: season two will entail…

All Eve wanted to be was ‘someone’.

All her life, Eve has struggled against everything trying to put her down. A malcontent father. Malicious boyfriends. And a painful illness which threatens to rob her ability to walk.

Each time she’s tried to rise above them. To believe in herself. And now she has her greatest chance – yanked into a magical world where she can become the heroine of a grand mythological adventure, her deeds destined to be sung about forever more.

Or at least, that’s what Eve thought.

The truth is far more complicated… and it only ends in death. As Eve is about to discover…

Magic of Myths: season two reveals the deadly truth behind Eve’s magical journey… and as people and decisions from her past return to haunt her, Eve finds herself in firmly planted within the machinations of more than one devil…
