…to make up for the lack of them over the past few weeks.
Sorry for the somewhat forced radio silence – lots have been going on in preparation for Christmas, conventions and 2014, so we’ve been a tad busy. But the good news is there have been many things happening for us to talk about.
First up, we had a lovely couple of shout outs recently. The first is from our pals over at Geek Syndicate, as part of their podcast blurb:
http://castroller.com/podcasts/GeeksyndicatesPodcast/3775277
And the second is from the super kind and talented artist/comic book creator Celina Hernandez, who not only gave us a mention on her Chibi Minute video:
…but also did this rather wonderful chibi version of our main gal, Eve:

More please, Celina!
In case you missed it, Celina was also one of the excellent artists who contributed to our Magic of Myths 2013 preview book from last year, creating this gem:

Love it!
If you feel inspired to create any Magic of Myths art, do let us know and we’ll give you a shout out on this very site.
More artwork on the way in following posts as we highlight the rest of the special limited edition prints created for our season two pre-order customers…

We may be quiet, but we’re still here and still working.
Those who pre-ordered their special editions of Magic of Myths: season two recently started to get their prints that came as part of the pre-order package. And we’ve had nothing but compliments for Sergio’s lovely artwork. Each print features a character from the series to date, specifically requested by the customer. And as all of them were happy with us showing you their prints, we’re going to display them here, over time.
Here are the first two…

Artist and toymaker Sara Dunkerton is getting closer to finishing the first Magic of Myths plush. Crazed bear Byron now has a nose, ears and eyes (or rather, one eye, seeing as he lost one in the story when he… ah, yes… we’ll tell you that tale another time. Don’t want to ruin the surprise).
Take a look:
He’s getting there! More to come, soon…

We’ve been teasing you with this the past few weeks, but the cat – okay, maybe ‘bear’ is more accurate – is out of the bag. The wonderfully talented Sara Dunkerton has been hard at work creating a plush version of everybody’s favourite slightly-homicidal-one-eyed-former-king-now-slave, Byron. Here’s what he looks like in the book:
And here are the latest progress shots from Sara:
Pretty good likeness so far, don’t you think?
Byron features in both Magic of Myths: season one and the forthcoming Magic of Myths: season 2, with a big part to play in season 3… but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves just yet…
We’ll show more progress as Sara gets closer to completing the full model.

“Don’t panic!” Sergio is still finishing off the last few pages of Magic of Myths: season two, but the art-machine that he is also created a little pin-up in celebration of Geek Pride Day in Spain on 25th May:
Douglas Adams, we at Magic of Myths, salute you. And we hope everyone had a wonderful Geek Pride Day last Saturday!

Next Friday we’re opening up pre-orders for Magic of Myths: season two. Then you’ll get the chance to buy a copy of the book, delivered to you for launch day, 26th July 2013.
And we’re doing something very special for pre-orders.
Everyone who pre-orders a copy of the book, will receive a LIMITED EDITION copy of Magic of Myths: season two.
This consists of:
– The main story (67 pages, across four chapters – that’s over twice the story material of season one) and the following extras:
– A special, limited edition cover (of which you can see an early version above)
– Seven pin-ups (with some of the artwork you’ve seen on this very site) by Magic of Myths artist, Sergio Calvet
– A sketchbook section
– The full script to Issue three (which is the big turning point) of season two, along with commentary from the creative team
– A free digital version of the book
Furthermore, the first 10 pre-orders will receive an exclusive sketch from Sergio, featuring any character you want from Magic of Myths – your choice.
Be warned:
This edition of Magic of Myths: season two is limited to the point where once we stop taking pre-orders at the end of June, the Limited Edition of the book will NO LONGER BE IN PRINT.
So to own this version of the book, you’ll need to pre-order *before* 1st July 2013. Once it’s gone, it’s gone – you’ll still be able to buy Magic of Myths: season two after that, but it’ll be the regular edition *without* the above extras.
Pre-orders will be open from 31st May 2013. The first 10 will get a sketch from Sergio, along with their book when Magic of Myths: season two launches on 26th July 2013. If you want to be in with a chance to win a sketch as soon the pre-orders start, we strongly recommend signing up to this site using the side-bar on the right (near the top of the page) so you know as soon as the pre-orders go live.
New to Magic of Myths and want both season one and two?
You’ll be able to buy season one *and* the Limited Edition of season two at a combined, discounted rate. There are plans for a combined ‘all-in-one’ book as well, but this will be just the regular editions, so again, without the extras which are exclusive to the Limited Edition.
See you on 31st May!

Hard drive company Seagate may not be well known for its creative aspect, but you’d be surprised – Seagate Social covers a wide variety of creative subjects in their cool blog. And after a great chance-meeting with Jonathan (who writes the blog) at San Diego Comic-Con, Corey was asked to do an interview about Magic of Myths and the writing process.
