“Where do I start?”

This is, without fail, one of the most common questions we get asked at conventions when people see our books.

Which might seem a bit weird at first, but considering we now have two published side stories to go with a three-season long (so far) main storyline, it’s a fair query. Having multiple books on sale can be a source of confusion that we, as creators, can take for granted. Especially in the often overwhelming environment of a con.

This was part of the reason why we created a solution (the other reason? To celebrate Magic of Myths being 12 years old this summer… how time flies!):

Introducing: Magic of Myths Compendium 1 (subtitled ‘Following Darkness Like a Dream’).

This book collects *every* story we’ve published in the series to date:

  • Magic of Myths: seasons 1 to 3
  • Magic of Myths: Faerie
  • Magic of Myths: Pipework
  • A Tale of Times and Trials Past
  • Dusk

All in a convenient and collectible, easy-to-read combined format – making it the ideal starting point for new readers who want to get into the ever-expanding world of Magic of Myths (that’s over 200 pages of story)!

We’re very proud and excited to have reached the half-way point of the entire series to date, so this is the perfect jumping on platform.

We’ll be back soon with a launch date – but let’s just say it might be closer than you think…

Review: “An exciting, yet dramatic, adventure” November 22, 2014

We’ve been lucky enough to get another positive – and very insightful – review of Magic of Myths, both seasons one and two. This time by college professor and writer Jeff Provine of Blogcritics:

“The juxtaposition of the weight of the real world and the epic trials is a fascinating and thrilling adventure. Magic of Myths gives the reader the best of both universes with heart-rending drama, with which many of us can identify, alongside explosive battles against monsters, riddles to be solved, and an ever-unfolding quest.”

Read the whole review here: – and thanks to Jeff and Blogcritics for their time and kind words.

Well, Magic of Myths made its second San Diego Comic-Con appearance and got a warm welcome from the show goers who stopped by to take a look at the book. A few more fans were made and many were either interested by the premise or loved Sergio’s visual style on the book enough to pick up a copy. Many thanks if you purchased one or just had kind words for us at the table.

We also were fortunate enough to take part in a couple of interviews, the first being from The Geek Speak Show, who interviewed Magic of Myths‘ writer Corey Brotherson about the series and one of his other projects, Vampire Boogie:

One of the biggest comic book sites online, Comic Book Resources, has very kindly put Magic of Myths under the spotlight for today’s Month of African-American Comics slot:

S1+S2 cover

had this to say:

“Eve is a fascinating lead and I am glad they framed it so that the first volume was alllll about us learning a lot about Eve – both her personality AND her personal history. So by the time the events of Season 2 take place, we know Eve so well that the story takes on an even greater significance since we know the lead so well.

“This is an engaging series with charming artwork from the main artist. I hope to see more of Eve’s heroic journey in the future.”

Thanks for the kind words Brian, and for taking the time to look at the series.
