Well, Magic of Myths made its second San Diego Comic-Con appearance and got a warm welcome from the show goers who stopped by to take a look at the book. A few more fans were made and many were either interested by the premise or loved Sergio’s visual style on the book enough to pick up a copy. Many thanks if you purchased one or just had kind words for us at the table.
We also were fortunate enough to take part in a couple of interviews, the first being from The Geek Speak Show, who interviewed Magic of Myths‘ writer Corey Brotherson about the series and one of his other projects, Vampire Boogie:

We’ve been lucky enough to get a couple more reviews published for Magic of Myths over the last few months, and while they’re fairly mixed on a whole, we appreciate the time and consideration taken by the reviewers to write about the series:
“Calvet’s art is, if anything, even stronger this time out: his clash of ancient power is less grim and bloody than Di Amorim gives us in God is Dead; it’s closer to a more kid-friendly version of something like 300, but even in his cartoony style, he brings intensity to the combat, and punctuates Eve’s story beats with wit and pathos, as called for.”
– CHUD [read the whole thing here: http://www.chud.com/146712/thors-comic-column-112213/]
and
“It’s full of cool references that have enough broad appeal that anyone can enjoy them but are also select enough that anyone with a more specific knowledge of myth and folklore will be able to appreciate the fan service going into the development of the story and the presence of these characters and creatures.”
– Geek Pride [read the whole thing here: http://www.geek-pride.co.uk/book-review/magic-of-myths/]
Many thanks to both publications for their kind words and taking the time to review the books.

One of the biggest comic book sites online, Comic Book Resources, has very kindly put Magic of Myths under the spotlight for today’s Month of African-American Comics slot:
http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2014/02/11/month-of-african-american-comics-magic-of-myths-seasons-1-2/#more-157769
Brian Cronin had this to say:
“Eve is a fascinating lead and I am glad they framed it so that the first volume was alllll about us learning a lot about Eve – both her personality AND her personal history. So by the time the events of Season 2 take place, we know Eve so well that the story takes on an even greater significance since we know the lead so well.
“This is an engaging series with charming artwork from the main artist. I hope to see more of Eve’s heroic journey in the future.”

Thanks for the kind words Brian, and for taking the time to look at the series.
