With everything going on, did we forget to mention that Magic of Myths: Season three is now available to purchase right now? You can pick up your copy for £13 via our Gumroad shop.

The story picks up almost immediately after Season two, where Eve has decided to work with despotic mage, V, and his demon-bear, Byron, to find a mysterious and formidable ‘crone’ to help them break free from the Witches of Fate’s grave influence.

However, the journey comes with a price. Old debts will need to be paid… and for some, the cost will be too high.

If you’re new to Magic of Myths, you can still take advantage of a very special bundle, where you can buy Magic of Myths: Season 3 and Magic of Myths: Complete Edition (containing season one, season two and spin-off story Magic of Myths: Faerie) for a discounted price of £35.

Wait, it’s May already? How did that happen?

Work on Magic of Myths: Season three has been full throttle the past few months and we’re fast approaching the latter parts of creation before we enter post-production and polish – it’s been difficult not to spill the beans too early, but we’re certain you’ll be happy with how the book is turning out.

Sergio has been sharing a progress report via Twitter (follow him here), so it makes sense to show you his page breakdown here, too.

Things are a fair bit more along than what you can see above – and the resolution is deliberately low so you don’t get spoiled on any of the details and twists – but you can already see a lot of the tone and vibrancy we’re going for. Although given where we left the story last (and we’ll do a recap before we launch, which will also be part of the book as a refresher, don’t worry), things are only going to get darker for poor Eve…

That’s enough teasing for now. More to come, soon.

Happy New Year!

We know it’s been a while, but we thought it was finally time for some news…

After last year’s reading preview from Magic of Myths: Season three at Shoreline of Infinity’s Event Horizon digital event, things have been progressing at a pace, with Sergio blasting through the current script with some amazing visuals.

We’ll have some new artwork to share very, very soon, but here’s a tiny tease of the first penciled panel from page one, in the meantime…

It’s been a quiet few months in a year of chaos – we hope that you’re all safe and well during these difficult times.

We just wanted to give you a quick heads-up: Magic of Myths co-creator and writer, Corey Brotherson, will be doing a reading from Magic of Myths: Season three today at 8pm BST in Shoreline of Infinity’s Event Horizon digital event.

This reading will essentially be a re-working of the prose tale, Magic of Myths: Devil’s Trade, which will be an important part of the in-progress season three book, so this acts as the second real showing of the next instalment of Magic of Myths’ main storyline (the first being new characters shown in from our Magic of Myths: Battle Cards set).

The event on a whole explores sci-fi in video gaming, with live videogame-inspired poetry, prose, music and talks from videogames researchers and industry professionals, and should be a fun couple hours!

We know – it’s about time, right?

We’ve been planning Magic of Myths: Season three for some time, but we’re finally ready to start putting the material together for a late 2018 launch. We’ll be feeding you details and news over the coming months, along with previews, but as a little thank you for sticking with us, here’s some exclusive and early sketches from Sergio’s art board for you to take a look at. This mysterious character is going to be super important to Eve’s journey from now until the end of the series itself…

And before we go – a massive thank you to those who swung by our table at Thought Bubble last week – we appreciate your support! We’ll be at another convention soon to round out the year, so expect more news on that soon.

Bringing Magic of Myths into 2014 – in with the new (book)? February 17, 2014

So, our slightly delayed (sorry) updated.

Despite the radio silence, we’ve not been resting on our laurels. Quite the opposite, in fact – and since the launch of Magic of Myths: season two and Magic of Myths omnibus (combined edition) we’ve been working on various other projects and planning our next steps for the series.

It was during this planning a few things became clear.

Veggies before dessert, then. First, the bad news. Our prose story, Magic of Myths: Devil’s Trade, has been ‘cancelled’ and folded into Magic of Myths: season three. This, in essence, doesn’t change things too much – the parts that were already written for Devil’s Trade (as well as its main storyline) still work perfectly within season three. The reasons for this decision were numerous. Devil’s Trade was meant to be a ‘side story’ that tied into the build up for season three. The idea was to explore V and Byron’s relationship before we go on another adventure with them in the third season of the series, but as time progressed we realised that the momentum had gone and it was a story better suited to be told – in a slightly more concise fashion – while you were reading season three itself. The narrative structure made sense and it created even more drama for the main story once it was combined.

It also meant that people reading Devil’s Trade would have the instant gratification of seeing these characters develop within the same pages, and see the juxtaposition of their past and present journeys. On top of all that, it would create a Watchmen style ‘prose sitting with comic book’ meta-narrative that fits right in with one of the series’ themes as well, something which will become clear when you read it, as season three changes the direction of the story in big ways.

Which leads to our next bit of news. Magic of Myths: season three won’t be out until 2015.

This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but ultimately it was the right one. Between our full time work commitments, our other work-for-hire comic book projects and the sheer size of season three (which will likely be around the size of season one and two put together) it simply wasn’t feasible to create the book, let alone make it as good as we want to make it, in 2014. We can only apologise for the delay, but we do hope it will be worth the wait and you’ll be as happy with the final book as we aim to be.

The good news?

Well, we’d hate to leave you hanging with nothing, so we’re putting together a smaller, Magic of Myths side story for 2014, called Magic of Myths: Faerie. It’s already within development and due to its size it’s something we can commit to for this year without disrupting season three or anything else on the cards, while giving you a Magic of Myths story to enjoy while you wait. It has direct influence on the series’ main storyline (something which may not be entirely clear for all but the eagle-eyed) and offers big clues towards forthcoming story elements and plotlines. If you’ve read Magic of Myths: season two you may remember the Witches speak of the ‘fall of Faerie’. This is the story which takes a look into how that happened and why it’s important to our main character, Eve…

We’ll be giving Magic of Myths: Faerie a full unveiling in the coming months, along with a release date and artwork.

Thanks for your patience and support.
